The winds were a factor, but also the Gulfstream comes very close to Boynton Inlet. Just a few hundred yards offshore and you're in relatively deep water, unlike off Key Biscayne where you travel 6 miles to Fowey Rocks Lighthouse and you're in only 12 feet of water.
