Yes, they are robins. I also live in Palmetto Bay, and yesterday morning and this morning we had hundreds of them in the area, and in our yard, not eating seeds from the feeder (as that is apparently not what they do) but very happily drinking from the bird bath. They stayed about 30 minutes yesterday and then joined a huge flock flying north, so I thought they were gone, but there they were again today. Now I am just hoping that the little painted bunting couple that visited my bird feeder in October for three weeks will return...

: This morning I sighted flocks of birds flying over my home in Palmetto Bay. I have never seen these before. From my vantage point I could see reddish, orange breast/bellies, darkish tail feathers, small light heads. These birds were smaller than a Robin or dove; bigger than warbler size. The head shape and size were dove-like. I tried to get closer looks with binoculars but they were flying too fast for me. Anyone have any clue what they may be? Thanks.
