Gumbo Limbo Trail- Northern Parula singing from the largest ficus at the entrance to the Gumbo Limbo Trail.

King Rail crossing the road just north of Mahogany Hammock.

Flamingo- Seven Swallow-tailed Kites over small bridge leading into Flamingo. The flats from the visitor's center yielded Roseate Spoonbills, Reddish Egret, Western Sandpiper, Dunlin, and a Caspian Tern among more common species.

Three Barn Owls were seen along SR-9336 on the way back to Miami. All were on wires.

It stormed for most of time spent at ENP. Strong downbursts from the thunderstorms cells resulted in unbelievably strong winds and lowered the temperature to the mid-70's. The highlight of the trip was easily the view from the Pahayokee Overlook as the cell passed through the marl prairie.
