Hoechoka Hammock is located at the intersection of University Drive and the Sawgrass, (Parkland)the Northeast corner. It is the wooded hammock in the center of the Church lands of Mary Help of Christians. Parking is on the grass islands. Enter through a white sand path way (on foot) toward a green tent just past a firepit in the picnic area. The robins were feeding again this morning in numbers abut 100+. Ramble through the open meditation garden area and you should see them on the ground as well as in all the cypress trees. Also watch for a northern harrier, scads of warblers, unlimited catbirds, one harried mockingbird. The trails through the hammock proper have sitting benches. Just sit a spell and watch and listen. The trees are alive with the sounds of spring...and many squirrels. Enjoy.
