I saw 5 anis last Friday afternoon, 3/1/2002, at 4PM
in Fairchild Tropical Gardens. They were in a large
cycad just east of the cycad circle. The staff told
me that they often almost trip over them in the area
near the snack bar.
I was able to get within 6 feet of them. On Saturday
morning we saw them running around and through the feet
of an education class that was planting a tree near
the little house that is a museum. Gillian Drake, one
of the EE staff, told me that they often do this.
Twenty years ago I used to find them on the extreme
eastern boundary of FTG. I must check there again soon.
