Tuesday afternoon, January 25, 2005, a flock of approximately 40 Cedar Waxwings arrived on the campus of Jacksonville University, on the north side of Jacksonville, Florida. I had never seen these birds before, but was able to identify them as Cedar Waxwings. They were feeding on small red berries, and they stayed for about 15 minutes. Do these birds regularly visit Florida?

The birds all seemed to be in good shape, clean, and hungry.
The weather was seasonably warm, around 60 degrees F.
