Good afternoon,

Chanticleer Press is again revising the maps in the Sibley Eastern Guide, published in 2003 -- this book should NOT be confused with the Sibley Guide to Birds, published in 2000 (the former book is an update of the latter, with updated maps).

Peruse any field guide long enough and you'll find a bunch of nit-picky issues with the maps. Chanticleer is looking for more obvious changes.

Some of the changes that I note include the inconsistencies in South Florida ranges of the loons, for instance; Crested Caracara now ranges a bit farther north and east; winter ranges of the two _Archilochus_ species, Chuck-will's-widow, and Western Kingbird need updating; Yellow-throated Vireo, Magnolia Warbler, and Louisiana Waterthrush need to have small blue areas in the extreme SE peninsula; Cave Swallow is now resident; Bronzed Cowbird now winters regularly; House Finch now breeds south to the Tampa Bay area.

If anybody else has any similar comments, I'd appreciate seeing them posted here.

Best regards,

Bill Pranty
