I have never seen a Cottonmouth at Chekika, despite the habitat looking more than appropriate. I have seen many along the main park road.
There are indeed a lot of snakes, both in density and diversity. There have been several nights where I've counted anywhere between 20-30 individuals of 6-7 species.
