I hope you don't mind me posting occasionally about the Southern California effort for the JC. I won't likely post about it again until maybe the final tally. I have managed to get a couple of others to particiapte here locally this year, and I may broaden the appeal on the local listserv to gather more interest this year and beyond. So far in San Diego County my personal effort is at 165 species and the overall effort is at 190 (+4 heard-onlys and many exotics). Broadening the effort a bit, a one-day foray into Imperial County (home of the Salton Sea) this past weekend yielded 107 species. Select photos in the provided link.
