I hope I'm not mistaken, but you just described a robin. There seem to be a lot of them around this year. Where are you seeing them? I live in South Dade and last year I saw them in my neighborhood only once, but there were hundreds. This year I see them everyday I'm outdoors, flying in flocks ranging from a couple dozen to hundreds at a time. Here's a website with some photos that might help with ID.
