Some years back, I saw two flamingos flying east to west over the Florida Turnpike near Lake Worth. I also saw two flamingos in the Keys, crossing US 1 from the ocean to the bay near Tavernier. in both cases, they were booking it, were deeply colored (like the ones in Bonaire), and showed no signs of domestication. I always liked to think that they were wild, but who knows for sure?
