I recently built a barn owl nest box and am looking for a place in the yard to put it. Every evening just after dark there's one or two adults that fly overhead, making their raspy call, or a series of clicking notes. I know how raucous they are at night when they have young so I'm going to place the box a lot closer to my neighbor's house than my bedroom window. There's a family of newly-emerged Eastern screech-owls around right now in the yard.
