Stopped by Lucky Hammock and The Annex this morning. Most of the expected birds were seen and heard while fighting off the ravenous mosquitoes. At about 8:30am, I was walking near the entrance to The Annex when three Black-bellied Whistling Ducks circled twice overhead before landing in the new canal on the east side of Lucky Hammock. That was a pleasant surprise. Several other birds seen were: White-eyed Vireo, Great-crested Flycatcher, Pileated Woodpecker, Eastern Meadowlark and Red-shouldered Hawk.
