For about a week now a flock of parakets have been coming to a guava tree in my front yard. There are usually about 10-11 to 20-23-24 in the group. They have bright green feathers, orangeish underwings, and bright blue to turquoise or teal foreheads. Can anyone tell me if they are Blue-crowned Parakeets? I think they are but am not sure, and they are not reported for my area. They began coming to my tree about a week ago and the same group has been feeding on the not-yet-ripe fruits in the tree in a group of usually 10-14 at a time. I live in Boca Raton, southeast Florida. Can anyone confirm the identity of these parrots and tell me if they are Blue-crowned Parrots or not?
