Hi folks, just wanted to remind everyone that this Saturday, January 8th, I'll be taking you all on a birding adventure (yes, adventure...never a dull moment with me around) across South Miami-Dade. We will meet at 7:00 AM at the Burger King on US1 (immediately on the right, after crossing the 344th St intersection) and make stops at the Greenway Trail Park, Lucky Hammock, the Annex, Coe Visitor Center ENP, Royal Palm ENP, Flynn's, Mary Krome Park, Castellow Hammock, and Dump Marsh. I bet we'll come close to, if not break, the Century Day (105 species) John Boyd had while leading this walk on Oct. 16th. Yes folks, you heard me, I believe this is possible! We'll have a lot of fun doing it and if you twist my arm just a teenee little bit, we can come back to Lucky Hammock at dusk to see the Lesser Nighthawks (and maybe even go see the Common Loon/Lark Sparrows/assortment of ducks at Larry & Penny Thompson Park before that). It all depends on how crazy we get, and I for one can get REALLY crazy (I have David LaPuma to thank for that). So pack a big lunch because I plan to see you all there (the regulars and the newies) and remember to email me for questions/suggestions. Bird on!

Cheers,
the Rock Jetty
