While on my way home from Coot Bay CBC on Monday I stopped at Lucky Hammock at about sunset. The Lesser Nighthawks began appearing over the pines to the west and south at about 5:45 and they began flying towards the hammock at about 5:55. My highest count was a little over 30 before I gave up counting and concentrated on observing the birds coming across the field towards me and flying around the hammock until it got to dark to see.

A highlight of the Coot Bay CBC on Sunday was seeing the flock of about 40 mostly adult Flamingos from the boardwalk at Snake Bight early in the morning. We first saw them in south of us before they flew toward the east and landed a bit farther out. They couldn't be seen when we returned in the afternoon.
