I birded this park again for an 1 1/2 today in hopes of getting my year Nashville Warbler rather quickly. No luck on that one, nor the Summer Tanager and Yellow-throated Vireo from 2 weeks ago. However, ~30 Cedar Waxwings have arrived, as well as 2 White-crowned Pigeons. And, just as I thought, Hermit Thrush could be found. in the park. The eight warbler species around the tot lot included Black-throated Green and Blue, Ovenbird, and Black-and-whites. An adult Broad-winged, two Short-tailed, one Red-shouldered, and one Sharp-shinned Hawk made for a good hawk day. And after a quick search around the Miami Shores Gulf Course, I found 4 Yellow-crowned and 1 Black-crowned Night-herons, a Worm-eatign Warbler, a handfull of yellowthroats, and some others. My year list is steadily reaching 100.
