Today, while stopping at Alabama Jack's for lunch, I heard a distinct call from the mangroves. I made the long and perilous treck to the other side of the road, risking life and limb to the cars speeding down Card Sound Rd, and began searching. After a seemingly eternal 20-30 seconds, I spotted and photographed the rare and elusive Yellow-faced Warbler! I couldn't believe I made such a find. It proves if you put in the effort, you will be rewarded. I quickly went back to the restaurant to enjoy a libation of greasy conch fritters and union rings, with a side of grease, and smothered in more grease. Life it Good!
