As the sun was setting Tuesday evening the peeps were carpeting the flats exposed by the receding tide in Lake Ingrahm. There was a nice group of 22 Whimbrel and one Long-billed Curlew hunkering down for the night. There was another bird with it's head tucked and I would like to think it was La Puma's Bar-tailed Godwit, but I'm not that lucky. For the fall NAMC I had to cover a lot of ground to find 21 Whimbrel so it was nice to see them ganged up. There were flights of several hundred Robins overhead that morning.
