While in my pool Saturday, a large bird of prey flyover that I at first thought was going to be a hawk that's been frequenting my back yard turned out to instead be a large black and white bird...I paid more attention to it once I noticed the colors, and quickly ruled out osprey as there was no white on the body or wings. I was only able to snap some blurry in flight shots with a backup camera as I was in my pool at the time, but confirmed the tail and head/neck were all white and body & wings all dark - a bald eagle. It was flying somewhat slowly from west to east, roughly from the Boca West community, over Timbercreek, over Boca Bath & Tennis Club, over the post office distribution center, and towards FAU campus. It was being tailed by two upset grackles, but paid them no mind.
This was my first ever sighting of a bald eagle - so needless to say, quite a thrill!
