It was a slow day in general but our target birds came through!
Gary and I had two Yellow Warblers in the same tree on Card Sound, past the toll but before the bridge. Also seen in this area were several Gray Kingbirds and a Red-breasted Merganser.
Further along Card Sound in the Crocodile Lake area we heard a Clapper Rail in the mangroves close to the road.
At Carysfort Road we heard and then had great looks at a Yellow-billed Cuckoo. Shortly afterwards we heard a Mangrove Cuckoo but could not locate it. This was all on Carysfort close to where it connects with Card Sound Road.
We then went to Dagney Johnson Botanical Site where we were treated to not only hearing a Mangrove Cuckoo but seeing it in the trees around the bathroom area. It was first seen on one side of the trail then flew to the other side. The White-eyed Vireos and Black-whiskered Vireos were very busy calling around the park.
