Yes, there was some blue at the base of the bill, particularly in the vicinity of the eye. Distal to that, there appeared to me to be some pinkish tones but largely gray. There appeared to be a low-contrast dusky tip to the bill but at that distance I could not be positive it wasn't a trick of light/shadow. Being sure of exact position of color tones was, to my eyes, impossible due to distance.
Also, I have just posted a photo taken from a different angle that shows the whitish tail against a blue background, allowing one to better appreciate that field mark. It can be seen on www.shorebirder.com
