They were here again this morning (at least 3 individuals). This time one landed just above my head in plain view! (apology to the guy I "shushed" when he asked what the hell I was doing pointing my microphone at a silent tree). The birds were actively calling at about 8-ish. I happened to pish at a black-and-white warbler that was making a weird (to me) chip, when the MACU called really close to us...we then walked in opposite directions to the other side of the boardwalk loop, and when we got there I pished again (this time at a worm-eating warbler)...the WEWA ignored me, but the MACU flew to just above my head and worked its way around the center of the boardwalk loop. It called again from about 8 feet in front of the microphone....needless to say the recording came out great! (many thanks to the fantastic Mangrove Cuckoo as well).

REMINDER: PLAYING A TAPE TO LURE BIRDS IS ILLEGAL IN EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK AND ANYONE FOUND DOING SO WILL FACE A STIFF FINE, BAD KARMA, AND(depending on who catches you)A SERIOUS A%% KICKING (aka Instant Karma)
