With migration pretty much all wrapped up for us we are welcoming our summer residents. Infront of life guard stand #12 we actually have our first Least Tern nest. It is marked off but the bird is easily visible in the middle (even from a distance). I have witnessed a couple other pairs breeding also so hopefully we get a couple more nests throughout the beach (if they don't pick a rooftop site). The egg should be due to hatch the last week in May - first week in June. If anyone knows about any rooftop sites where these birds are nesting please shoot me an email!
Cheers,
Rangel
