This morning I went looking for a Bird of the Day at Black Point... specifically Mangrove Cuckoo. I met a couple (the Wheatons) from the Carolina's who were doing the same. They were looking on the Bridge over the canoe waterway in the mangroves.

I went to the end of the parking lot and quickly found two Mangrove Cuckoos and called the Wheatons down to see the birds. They moved(cuckoos) further to the north prior to the Wheatons getting to see the birds. They did get to hear them calling and will go back for another try if they don't see one this afternoon on the TAS walk in Key Largo.

I also went looking for a White-rump Sandpiper... this is they right time to see one in the spring so I when over near Cutler Quarry and found a few shorebirds, but only Semi-palmated Sandpipers and Plovers.
