Wakodahatchee features green winged teal, many blue winged teal, and robins swarming overhead regularly. Several regulars reported a fly-in by a roseatte and one wood stork. The water bins have been drained so the boardwalk features much mud, good views and a plethora of "critter-tracks." Several visitors reported bobcat sightings that were very brief. That is NOT verified yet by regulars to this area. The great blues are mating, nest building and one is already brooding. Ditto for two anhinga nests on the island.
Snipe are present as are sora. Bitterns were heard but not seen and limpkins are heard and seen.
Red-bellied woodpeckers are very obvious by the entrance, shrike, northern mockingbirds and of course the usual characters common egret, snowy egret, green back herons, tri's, little blues, coots and gallinules by the score, and more moorhens. Territorial fighting is beginning.
Black bellied not seen for a week but considering the low water they could just be moved to the non-accesible water areas.
Warblers are standard: pine, prairie, palm.
