Yesterday I took my first trip to Loop Road. I was near the point where the paved portion ends when I saw a flock of about 30 robins fly overhead. I followed them in my car a little ways and found them perched in a few cypress trees- and on the other side of the road were at least a couple hundred more! It was an awesome site. They were going nuts over some tree with berries by the road (sorry, don't know Florida plants well yet). At that same stop I saw a Tufted Titmouse. As I stopped at various points along the road, I discovered about 10 more titmice (total, not together) and three smaller flocks of robins, as well as a flock of about 15 goldfinches. Other highlights included a Pileated Woodpecker, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Northern Flicker, Wood Storks, Magnolia Warbler, and an alligator stalking an Anhinga. Numbers of Yellow-rumped Warblers were out of control.

An evening stop at Greynolds Park produced an Ovenbird and a Carolina Wren.
