The birds in question appear to be hybrids. Red-fronted and juvenile Mitreds both have the large size and red forehead, but both lack the yellow and red at the fold of the wing. Only Crimson-fronted and White-eyed Parakeets have the yellow and red at the fold, and both are fairly small aratingas. It is hard to say what the birds are, but there seems to be some hybrid flavor going on in the Springs.
