RFI: Sugarloaf Key Cuckoos

Hello again and thanks to everyone who has provided very useful info that I am sure will make my trip (starting Sat.) that much more awesome. The location on Sugarloaf Key at the end of Rte 939 where Mangrove Cuckoos have been previously reported - looking at Google Maps there is a dirt road here that is gated that goes off to the East. You can see about a hundred "No Parking" signs here in Google's Street View. How do you bird this area? Is this just car birding? Is the road private? Is there a good place to park legally nearby?
