This afternoon, after the STA-5 tour, Joe Bozzo and I saw a very interesting Red-tailed Hawk (think Kriders) perched on a telephone pole about a mile west of the intersection of Blumberg Rd. & CR835 in Hendry County. I have seen this hawk before but never looked at it closely. Today I did. This unusual colored/patterned RTHA was sporting jesses. I don't know if this particular hawk is some sort of hybrid bred for a falconer or whatever the case may be but it certainly is unusual and should be looked for by birders who frequent the area.
