Just 5 hard-core birders arrived at MDC Environmental Center in the storms and rain to try and find birds. Despite the weather, the Environmental Center was quite productive. Under adverse conditions of poor lighting, wind and intermittent rain, we found 11 Warbler species along with quite a few other birds during the two hours we observed. Kendall Indian Hammock produced a lesser amount of Warblers, but offered us with a different variety of birds. The largest quantity of one species seen were ~300 Cedar Waxwings in several flocks that flew over.
73 deg. F., light intermittent rain, cloudy, wind S., 10-15 mph.
