One good thing about running in Florida (to make up for the awful heat; yes, anything above 70 degrees is bad for running in my book!) is all the birds that can easily be seen during a run. This evening I took off from RSMAS and ran along Crandon Beach, where I saw all 5 gull species, several plover species, sanderlings, Royal Terns, and a very entertaining immature Reddish Egret. On my way back across the bridge I came face-to-face with two Black-crowned Night Herons. Very cool!
