My weekend birding extravaganza was a morning at the dump...Dump Marsh, more exactly, plus Black Point. Black Point was more intersting for landbirds--no ducks, no interesting gulls or terns, but there were 7 species of warblers, including 2 Yellow Warblers and Northern Waterthrush, plus 18 American Goldfinches. There was also a Willet at the point.

Dump Marsh had lots of Coots and Blue-winged Teal, plus Mottled Ducks, 3 American Wigeon and 1 N Shoveler. Also seen were several warblers including Louisiana Waterthrush, bringing the morning's total to 10, plus immature Bald Eagle (looked like a second year), Painted Bunting, and 35+ American Goldfinches.

On the way home at 1100 a quick stop at Larry and Penny Thompson Park failed to produce Lark Sparrow (probably due to quite a bit of park activity), but there was a Ruddy Duck and about a dozen Ring-necked Ducks on the lake.
