The highlights of an overnight trip to Everglades National Park this weekend were a White-tailed Kite, two Scissor-tailed Flycatchers, and a Western Kingbird at Lucky Hammock, a Blue-winged Warbler on snake Bight Road, five American Avocets, two Stilt Sandpipers, and two Semipalmated Sandpipers at Eco Pond on Saturday. The most interesting birds on Sunday were a singing Yellow-breasted Chat and a dozen Painted Buntings at Eco Pond, two Shiny Cowbirds in front of the Visitor Center at Flamingo, and Magnolia Warblers on Bear Lake Trail and Gumbo Limbo Trail.
