Winter birds have arrived in big numbers. A walk around the Miami Shores Gulf Course produced many species this morning, and a bike ride yesterday at a friends in Davie had a good amount of birds, too.

Turkey Day in Davie:
Wood Stork- 5
Black-crowned Night-heron- 1
Egyptian Goose- 1
Ring-necked Ducks- one flock of 61, and another flock of ~25
Mottled Duck- ~30
American Coot- 1
Cooper's Hawk- 1
Lesser Yellowlegs- 1
Caspian Tern
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker- 2
Northern Rough-winged Swallow- 17
Palm, Yellow-rumped, Yellow-throated, and Black-throated Green Warblers
American Goldfinch- 2 or 3 (heard)
Total species in about an hour of birding: 46

Today in Miami Shores:
Both Night-herons
White-eyed Parakeet- 50-60!
Red-masked Parakeet- 2
Mitred Parakeet- 1
CRIMSON-FRONTED PARAKEET- 1
Chesnut-fronted Macaw- 17
Eastern Phoebe- 2
Blue-headed Vireo- 2
Hill Myna- 13
