Hi gregg,
I'm not sure how familiar you are with the area- so forgive me if this is unneeded explanation.
The lake is well within the park and several miles from the Flamingo Marina- accessible only by boat. I don't believe the lake was much frequented by birders before the flamingos were found... It might be the same way now. BUT, the fishermen are out there all the time.
If you don't get a solid response from the birders here, I'd contact some of the boat captains that have previously been mentioned for the flamingo trips. They are probably out there fishing with clients, birds or no birds. They'd be able to tell you if the flamingos are still there.
