Chestnut-fronted Macaws are in the area of the nursing home, but in small numbers compared to northern-most Dade. The largest aratingas in the area are Red-fronted and Mitred Parakeets. Blue-crowneds are about an inch smaller than MIPA and RFPA, and have a rather low call for their size, especially when compared to the high-pitched calls of Red-masked and White-eyed Parakeets, which are common in the area.
It was nice meeting you as well, and e-mail me if you want to video CF Macaws in north Dade sometime. I know of a few nests, a roost, and good places to find them.
