Although all 125 mottled ducks have gone to nesting or migrated to the Bird Show at St. Augustine, a mated pair of wood ducks has returned to Hoechoka Hammock. There are several areas suitable for them to nest and we may see the presence of baby ducks shortly. Last year we had four.
First nighthawk announced its presence Saturday evening. About 6-8 calls. No "booming".
