I was finally able to get out birding with my 3 ½ year old son Philip today. We were able to get great views of the Sulphur-bellied Flycatcher today as well as great photos. Jill Gaezti, Tina Mossbarger and Mr. Rock Jetty were already there when we arrived; Jill and Tina saw the bird high in a Strangler Fig in the center of the hammock earlier in the morning. It was not in view when my son and I got there, not long after Maria from Homestead? arrived and soon found the bird on the south side of the Hammock. It was at eye level for much of the time feeding on West Indies Trema (Trema lamarckianum) at least I think that is the species.

On November 4th in Flamingo Everglades National Park, I saw and heard two Brown-crested Flycatchers. Both birds were calling back and forth; one of them started singing as well. These birds were by the dam going over Buttonwood Canal, which is next to the canoe rental in Flamingo. Walk over the dam and check the area on the other side for the birds.
