Seventeen birders joined me for yesterday s carpool trip to the Lake Kissimmee area, undoubtedly the largest group I ve ever had for this trip. The weather started out beautiful but turned somewhat nasty in the afternoon, with short periods of heavy rain and winds gusting to 35-40 mph! We had a productive day in spite of the weather, finding many of the area s specialties, with Whooping Crane, Red-cockaded Woodpecker and Carolina Chickadee being the biggest misses. The most conspicuous bird of the day may have been Wild Turkey; individuals or small groups were seen virtually everywhere we went.

Here s the unofficial trip list of birds and mammals seen by at least one participant; participants may add species that I failed to list.
