At 12:10PM Tuesday (2/19) I was parked on CR-905 alongside the shrubby thicket under FKEC power pole #228. I looked up from the paperwork I was completing to see a lone Ani emerge from the lower part of the thicket. This was almost certainly the same bird we saw Saturday, and in the exact same location, though this time observed through a truck window at 15 feet with 8x42 Swift binoculars. It is a Smooth-billed Ani. It stayed in the open for a minute or two before skulking back into cover.
