A good winter?

Seems to me that we may have a good amount of explosive winter birds. With sapsuckers, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Ruby-crowned Kinglets, waxwings, a siskin, and a few other northern explosive birds already being in south Florida already. Does anyone have an explanation for all these early sightings (and in the case of the siskin, a vagrant)?
