Best birds this morning at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary: eight species of warblers including both Louisiana & Northern Waterthrush -- excellent looks at field mark details, especially the throats, thick & longish "eyebrow", etc.; flock of 75+ Cedar Waxwings eating ficus berries from a large strangler fig; Carolina Wren beating a Brown Anole to death with its long beak on the boardwalk and then afterward, swallowing the mashed lizard; the claw remains of a crayfish on the rail of the boardwalk, the rest of the body eaten by a predator; three Swallow-tailed Kites sitting in some dead cypress trees some fifty feet from the Horseshoe Marsh observation platform. Nice morning . . . .
