Don't know of it's status presently, but there has been an aviary on Sanibel Island that has provided escapees in the past. A few years ago we enjoyed a Troupial that appeared every so often in the area of the Sanibel Lighthouse Park for close to a year. Certainly, Hurricane Charley or one of the following tropical storms that came through SW FL may also be a factor. Neat bird and photos!
