Bald Eagles have been nesting in Broward Countyfor the first time in 35 years. The nest is in Pembroke Pines about 200 feet south of Pines Blvd between 208th and 209th Avenues. See pembrokepineseaglewatch.com for information, photos, maps, directions, etc. This pair has successfully fledged 8 eaglets since 2008. Efforts are underway to establish an eagle nest cam. That's the good news. The bad news is that the eagles disappeared recently even though the eaglet is only 60 days old since hatching and shouldn't have left the nest for several more weeks. We are asking all birders to be on the lookout for any bald eagles, adult or juvenile, in Broward or Miami-Dade Counties and report them on the Forum page on the EagleWatch website. Thanks.
