To paraphrase Miracle Max, it was only mostly dead. I heard the Wilson's Warbler Brian located (or relocated, if it was the Dec/Jan bird that disappeared) by a few chips about halfway down the unpaved path, but it stopped calling and I could not locate it. I also flushed up a FOS Chuck-wills-widow in the same area, and 2 Ovenbirds were in the area between the Butterfly garden and the boardwalk. Other than that, though, there was nothing but 1 or 2 Cardinals.

The good news is that for the 1st time in 2 weeks, there were no backhoes, industrial chippers or other heavy equipment roaring in the background......
