This morning, along with Margaret England and two other birders whose names I never did get, went to the Gibson's residence at 730 Royal Palm Ave. in Clewiston (Hendry Co.) to try for the male Yellow-headed Blackbird that has been visiting their yard for over a week now. Mr. Gibson told us that the bird was seen and vocalizing loudly around 8:00-8:15AM and then flew off to the west/northwest. Margaret and the others stayed until 11:00-11:30AM before departing without seeing the YHBL. I stayed until 1:30PM. The YHBL came into the feeder in the Gibson's yard and then perched in the Hong Kong Orchid Tree for about five minutes at around 1:20PM. I left it there. It is indeed a beautiful male YHBL. In all, we tallied nearly 35 species of birds including a pair of Bronzed Cowbirds that perched on telephone lines over the nearby canal.
