I called Jake Tucker, Caretaker for the Environmental Center at Miami-Dade College, Kendall Campus, to see about exploring the area for birds, and he informed me they had three Wilson's Warblers there the morning before. I got over there yesterday morning and missed every one of the Wilson's. However, I had a successful morning of birding with a couple nice additions, a female Rose-breasted Grosbeak and Yellow-throated Vireo. I searched for the Wilson's Warbler and Spot-breasted Oriole, which was seen earlier, but not by me. The following birds were noted, before the winds picked up, the sky got black, thunder rumbled, and the rains came down.
Eurasian Collared-Dove 1
Mourning Dove 2
Ruby-throated Hummingbird 2
Belted Kingfisher 1
White-eyed Vireo 1
Yellow-throated Vireo 1
Blue Jay 3
Purple Martin 1 heard
Gray Catbird 5
Northern Mockingbird 1
Cedar Waxwing 3
Ovenbird 1
Common Yellowthroat 3
Northern Parula 2
Pine Warbler 2
Yellow-rumped Warbler 3
Prairie Warbler 2
Northern Cardinal 3
Rose-breasted Grosbeak 1
Painted Bunting 3
