I did a quick 9:00 am survey from the C-111 canal to see if the Vermilion Flycatchers were out, but none were seen. The three Scissor-tailed Flycatchers and the Western Kingbird were hanging together along the fence, mid-way between C-111 and Aerojet Road.
At Lucky Hammock, the Ash-throated Flycatcher was still there, along with some Painted Buntings and a noisy White-eyed Vireo.
The best sighting was good, long looks at a Clay-colored Sparrow in the field area just south of the Hammock and the dirt road, no more than 100' south of the SW corner of the hammock.
