Heyy birders!! Today I encountered the best fallout day of my birding life. I had a total of 15 warblers and other good highlights. I also stopped by this afternoon from 5 to 5:40 PM. Here are the highlights for today:
Cooper's Hawk: 1 (fly right past me at Matheson)
Merlin: 1 (neighborhood)
White-Crowned Pigeon: Many (all of them around my yard!)
Common Nighthawks: about 15
Chimney Swifts: 6
Ruby-throated Hummingbird: 4
Acadian Flycatcher: 1 (was found on the oak tress to the north of the Fairchield Tropical garden parking lot)
Great Crested Flycatcher: 1 (Matheson parking lot)
Eastern Kingbird: 1
Red-eyed Vireo: Many (yard and Matheson)
Swainson's Thrush: 20+ (yard and Matheson)
Gray-cheeked Thrush:1-lifer!! (at least 2 in my yard!!)
Gray Catbirds: Too many to count
Tennessee Warbler: 5 (my neighborhood)
Northern Parula: ALOT!
Blackburnian Warbler: 1 Adult female (same area as the flycatcher)
Black-throated Blue Warbler: alot!
Black-throated Green Warbler: 5 (3 juveniles in my yard and 2 males at Matheson)(same area as the flycatcher)
Palm Warbler: couple
Pine Warbler: 1 at Matheson pines
Prairie Warbler: couple
Bay-breasted Warbler: 1-lifer!!(1st winter) at Matheson-same area as the flycatcher
Yellow-throated Warbler: couple
Black-and-white Warbler: many
American Redstart: many
Worm-eating Warbler: 1
Northern Waterthrush: 2 (yard)
Ovenbird: couple
Rose-breasted Grosbeak: 1 female (neighborhood)
Scarlet Tanager: 1 female(yard)
Summer Tanager: 1 female (Matheson)
